Presentation Guidelines
Oral Presentation
  1. Speakers would prepare their own Power Point presentation in either English or Chinese according to the language used in the submitted abstract. Please ensure that your Power Point presentation is converted to a PC ready format, particularly if you are using an Apple computer/notebook.
  2. Please email your PowerPoint presentation at submission@acd2018.org before 28 June 2018, or provide it onsite using a USB in the Speaker Preparation Room in advance (i.e. before 11a.m. on the same day for the presentation in the afternoon, and before 5 p.m. on the day before for the presentation in the morning)
  3. Even if you have submitted your presentation in advance, please save the latest version of your presentation in a USB for emergency purpose.
  4. Speakers Preparation Room – Opening Hours
    5 July – From 2:00pm to 5:00pm
    6 July – From 9:00am to 5:00pm
    7 July – From 9:00am to 5:00pm
  5. Organizing Committee asks for your favour to stick with the schedule indicated in order to avoid unexpected situations. It would be impossible to upload the presentation file during or right before the parallel or plenary sessions.
  6. Time Allocation (Oral Presentation)
    1. 10 minutes presentation (with 3 minutes of questions and answers sessions)
    2. The time for oral presentations in the parallel sessions has been established in order to give time for a scientific discussion among the audience. With the interest of participants and other presenters, please ensure that you keep your allocated time frame, and adjust their talks to the scheduled time for presentations.
    3. The Organisation Committee will inform you that the time allocated to each speaker will be strictly followed by the moderators, and speakers will be interrupted as soon as the time is over. The moderators will help to keep the time of your presentation and provide you with a reminder at 2 minutes remaining and when time is up. We would strongly recommend you to time your presentation in advance to ensure it fits within the allocated time.
  7. Your Session – Arrive Early
    The organisation kindly requests you to be present in the venue at least 10 minutes before the session starts. The moderators will be in this room, along with a member of the conference secretariat who will be there to welcome you and provide necessary assistance. Both of them will have visual accreditation labelled as: Moderator and Conference Secretariat.
  8. The Potential Conflict of Interest
    We inform that speakers are not allowed to advertise in the slides or during the oral presentation, in particular:
    1. Trademarks
    2. Companies of the food/nutrition/medical sector
    3. Apps, websites or working methods where the speaker has a financial interest
    If you are a speaker supported by a commercial company, you can mention the company, at the beginning or end of your oral presentation, in order to express your gratitude


  9. Luncheon Short Oral Presentation
    1. The Organizing Committee intended to maximize opportunities for delegates to interact with other participants on their works during the conference. With the limited time in the 2.5 days conference and we decided to have short oral presentation during the lunch time. The delegates with abstract accepted for short oral presentation would be requested to prepare the electronic poster, and they would be required to have a 5 minutes concise presentation based on your electronic posters in the designated room (Lecture room Y715 or Y716). The moderators will invite audience for questions.
    2. During the conference, digital kiosks will be available in the venue to show all posters digitally, and the softcopy of your poster will also be available on the conference website after the conference.
    3. Delegates with abstract accepted for poster presentation would need to prepare the electronic poster in the PowerPoint presentation format (Physical dimension on 42" vertical display touch-screen kiosk, actual display size: 52.5cm (W) x 93.5cm (L); Screen ratio: > 1080 x 1920). The file should not exceed 10MB. The specifications shall be straightly followed in order to be compatible with the digitally kiosk. We strongly recommend you to build your electronic poster from the template by the ACD Secretariat.
    4. The deadline of your electronic poster submission would be 8 June 2018, please email at submission@acd2018.org
    5. Time Allocation (Short oral presentation):

The chair will help to keep the time of your presentation and provide you with a reminder at 30 seconds remaining and when time is up. We would strongly recommend you to time your presentation in advance to ensure it fits within the allocated time.

    1. The Organizing Committee are committed to keep the 7th ACD a sustainable event and decided all presented poster must be created digitally so that printing would not be required. During the conference, digital kiosks will be available in the venue to show all posters digitally, and the softcopy of the poster will also be available on the conference website after the conference.
    2. Delegates with abstract accepted for poster presentation would need to prepare the electronic poster in the PowerPoint presentation format (Physical dimension on 42" vertical display touch-screen kiosk, actual display size: 52.5cm (W) x 93.5cm (L); Screen ratio: > 1080 x 1920).
